The total moment was conserved by assigning equal weights of 0.25 to the four sub-sources surrounding the nominal source position. This was done to reduce possible numerical leakage associated with injecting a pure Mxy source at a single staggered-grid node.

Method description : FDAWP-ODC (Anelastic Wave Propagation - Olsen, Day, Cui) is a highly scalable open-source code for simulating seismic wave propagation and dynamic ruptures in 3D. It uses staggered-grid finite differences to solve wave equations in viscoelastic solids.
